GTA 6 preorders are open as of October 2, 2026. Rockstar has confirmed Standard and Ultimate editions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with US prices starting at $79.99. Eligible purchases include the Vintage Vice City Pack, while qualifying digital purchases also include one month of GTA+.
Boxed Standard Edition copies are available, but they contain a download code rather than a game disc. Preloading begins on November 12, 2026, and the game becomes playable on November 19, 2026.

GTA 6 preorder status at a glance
The edition formats and included content are listed on Rockstar’s official GTA VI edition page. The separate collector’s product is sold through the Rockstar Store, while Take-Two’s current release schedule covers PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
GTA 6 editions explained
Rockstar has announced two editions of the game. Standard Edition includes the base game, while Ultimate Edition combines the base game with the Ultimate Edition Upgrade.
The Vintage Vice City Pack and one-month GTA+ offer are promotional benefits tied to eligible purchases. They are separate from the paid Ultimate Edition Upgrade.
GTA 6 Standard Edition
Standard Edition includes the base game and is available digitally or as a boxed code-in-box product. Eligible purchases made before November 20, 2026, include the Vintage Vice City Pack.
Buyers who choose the digital version can also qualify for the one-month GTA+ promotion, subject to the platform’s redemption rules.
What is included in GTA 6 Ultimate Edition?
GTA 6 Ultimate Edition is an official digital edition priced at $99.99 in the United States. It includes the base game and the Ultimate Edition Upgrade.
The upgrade adds:
- Vehicles: the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, Jason’s Safehouse Vehicles, Ganado Retro Build, Shitzu Squalo and ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy with its own garage.
- Weapons and styling: Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers, Personalized Weapon Variants, Vice City Style and Goodtime Gear.
- Customization locations: Rideout Customs Mod Shop, Sara’s Unisex Salon, Stock 305 Clothing Store, Electric Fang Tattoo Parlor and One-Eyed Willie’s Mod Shop.
- Additional activities: a raid on the PTT Youngin$ Compound and the Classic Car Collection, a commission involving the recovery and restoration of project cars for Wyman.
These additions become available as players progress through Jason and Lucia’s story.
Can you upgrade GTA 6 Standard Edition later?
Yes. Rockstar confirms that Standard Edition owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately.
Owners of the boxed Standard Edition must redeem the supplied game code before purchasing the upgrade. The US Xbox Store currently lists the upgrade at $20. The US PlayStation page displays the add-on but did not show a standalone purchase price during this check, so regional availability and pricing should be confirmed directly in the relevant store.
Will GTA 6 have a Collector’s Edition?
Rockstar has not announced a third game edition called GTA 6 Collector’s Edition. It has, however, opened preorders for Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State - Vice City Collection.
This is a separate collector’s merchandise box containing:

The official Vice City Collection page states that Grand Theft Auto VI is sold separately. Buying the collection does not provide Standard Edition, Ultimate Edition or an upgrade code.
The collection had an active preorder option when checked on October 2, 2026. Shipping costs, regional availability and the current price should be confirmed in the customer’s local Rockstar Store before ordering.
GTA 6 preorder bonuses
There are two separate offers:
- The Vintage Vice City Pack for eligible boxed and digital purchases.
- One month of GTA+ for qualifying digital purchases.
Vintage Vice City Pack
The Vintage Vice City Pack contains:
- a ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage;
- additional outfits and hairstyles;
- an exclusive weapon pattern.
Rockstar’s offer applies to GTA 6 preorders and eligible purchases made before November 20, 2026. This means purchases made on the November 19 launch date can also qualify.
The pack is included with eligible Standard and Ultimate Edition purchases at no additional cost during the promotional period.
One month of GTA+
Qualifying digital purchases of Standard or Ultimate Edition also include one month of GTA+. Redemption rules differ between PlayStation and Xbox.
PlayStation
Players must purchase a digital edition before November 20, 2026, and claim the offer through the GTA+ product page by March 31, 2027.
New, lapsed and existing GTA+ subscribers can qualify. Existing subscribers can add the promotional month to the end of their current subscription period. The offer is limited to one redemption per account.
After the promotional month, GTA+ becomes a paid monthly subscription unless it is cancelled before the next billing date.
The offer is available through most PlayStation country stores, but Sony excludes Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, the Russian Federation and Taiwan. Full details appear in the PlayStation GTA+ offer terms.
Xbox
For Microsoft Store purchases, the GTA+ month must be redeemed within 180 days after purchasing an eligible digital edition.
The offer can be found in the Microsoft Store’s Offers & credits section. Players may also receive a console notification when it becomes available. Redemption is limited to one per platform account.
Rockstar states that the membership renews at the regular monthly price after the promotional month unless cancelled.
The GTA+ offer applies to eligible digital purchases. It is not listed as a benefit of the boxed Standard Edition.
How much will GTA 6 cost?
Official GTA 6 prices are now available, so estimates and direct currency conversions are no longer necessary.
The following prices were checked on October 2, 2026. Every row refers to digital PS5 editions in the named regional PlayStation storefront. Germany is included as one euro-priced market and should not be treated as proof that every eurozone store uses identical pricing.
These are displayed local prices rather than conversions from the US price.
The US Xbox Store also lists Standard Edition at $79.99, Ultimate Edition at $99.99 and the separate Ultimate Edition Upgrade at $20. Prices on Xbox and PlayStation may differ in other countries.
Check the final checkout total before ordering. Taxes, shipping fees, retailer discounts and local pricing can change the amount paid.

Will GTA 6 have physical copies?
Yes. Rockstar has announced a boxed Standard Edition, but the box contains a digital download code rather than a game disc.
The code-in-box version is scheduled to become available for shipping and store collection from November 12, 2026. Codes can be redeemed once received, allowing the game to begin preloading from local midnight on November 12.
The game remains locked until its official release on November 19, 2026. Receiving the package or completing the preload does not provide early access.
There is currently no boxed Ultimate Edition. Buyers of the boxed Standard Edition can redeem the game code and then purchase the digital Ultimate Edition Upgrade through PlayStation or Microsoft.
Check the code region before importing a copy
PlayStation download codes must match the region associated with the user’s PlayStation account.
For example:
- a UK code requires a UK PlayStation account;
- a North American code can be used with Canadian and US accounts;
- codes sold for other regions are subject to the country groups listed by Rockstar.
Rockstar states that Xbox codes are not region-locked. Even so, it recommends buying from a retailer in the same country as the platform account to reduce the risk of activation or support problems.
Should you buy GTA 6 physically or digitally?
For GTA 6, the practical comparison is between a boxed download code and a direct digital purchase.
The boxed version may appeal to buyers who want the packaging, prefer a particular retailer or plan to collect the order locally. A direct digital purchase provides immediate access to the platform’s preload system and offers both Standard and Ultimate editions.

Where can you preorder GTA 6?
PlayStation Store and Xbox Store
Digital preorders are available through the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store.
Choose the storefront associated with your account’s country and check that you are purchasing the correct edition and platform version.
PlayStation payment and cancellation
PlayStation Store charges the selected payment method when the preorder is placed.
Under Sony’s published US policy, a preorder placed more than 14 days before release can generally be cancelled before the release date if the main game download has not started. Preorders placed within 14 days of release use a different 14-day cancellation window.
Starting the main download, including an automatic preload, can affect ordinary refund eligibility. Regional policies and applicable consumer rights may differ.
Xbox payment and cancellation
Microsoft’s payment timing depends on the chosen method:
- Microsoft account balance is charged immediately.
- Other payment methods, including a backup payment option, may be charged up to 10 days before release.
A preorder can be cancelled through Microsoft order history. When cancellation takes place after billing but before release, Microsoft processes it as a refund.
Rockstar Store
The Rockstar Store offers the boxed code-in-box version.
Rockstar directs support for its own physical preorders to its store and fulfilment partners. Orders placed with a third-party retailer must be managed through that retailer.
Best Buy in the United States
Best Buy lists the Standard code-in-box version at $79.99 for both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Its product pages distinguish between:
- November 12, 2026: expected delivery or collection availability;
- November 19, 2026: the date the game becomes playable.
Best Buy’s entertainment preorder policy states that credit cards are charged when the order ships. Orders can be cancelled before shipment. Once shipped, the retailer’s return conditions apply.
Amazon in the United Kingdom
Amazon UK has an active PS5 Standard Edition code-in-box listing.
Because Amazon also hosts marketplace sellers, confirm the following on the final checkout page:
- the current seller;
- the current price;
- the platform and product format;
- the expected delivery date;
- payment and cancellation terms.
Retailer listings can change after this article is published, even when the product page URL remains the same.
How to recognise an unsupported GTA 6 listing
Before paying, check that the offer uses one of Rockstar’s official edition names and clearly identifies the platform and format.
Treat unfamiliar edition names, placeholder prices and promises of early gameplay as warning signs. A wishlist page, countdown or notification form is not an active preorder.
Open the publisher or retailer directly rather than relying on a cropped screenshot or social media advertisement.
When did GTA 6 preorders open?
GTA 6 preorders opened on June 25, 2026, at midnight local time, following Rockstar’s announcement on June 24.
The preorder campaign covers PS5 and Xbox Series X|S through official digital stores, the Rockstar Store and participating retailers.
What to check before preordering GTA 6
Before completing an order, confirm:
- Platform and edition: Check the console, official edition name and included content.
- Product format: Confirm whether the purchase is digital or a boxed download code.
- Account and region: Make sure any supplied code is compatible with the account that will redeem it.
- Final cost: Review taxes, shipping, payment timing and any subscription renewal.
- Important dates: Separate the delivery date, preload date and playable release date.
- Cancellation terms: Check the retailer or platform policy before enabling automatic downloads.
- Bonus eligibility: Confirm whether the Vintage Vice City Pack and GTA+ offer apply to the chosen format.
- Collector’s products: Check whether merchandise includes the game or is sold separately.

Should you preorder GTA 6?
Preordering may be useful for players who have already chosen their platform and edition, want to arrange launch-week collection or plan to preload the game before release.
Standard Edition provides the base game and can be upgraded later. Ultimate Edition is intended for players who specifically want its additional vehicles, weapons, customization locations and activities.
Waiting until release is also a reasonable option for anyone who wants to see independent reviews, performance testing or technical coverage before paying. It may also be preferable when a retailer’s delivery, payment or cancellation terms are unclear.
