GTA 6 does not have an officially announced PC release date. As of September 25, 2026, Rockstar has not formally announced a PC edition or a PC launch window.
The official GTA VI website lists November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. PC is not included among the currently announced platforms.
That does not mean GTA 6 will never come to PC. Rockstar has previously launched major games on consoles before releasing PC versions later. For now, however, any GTA 6 PC date remains unofficial.

Here is the current status based on Rockstar’s announcements and Take-Two’s published release schedule.
The key point is simple: PC is not part of the currently announced launch, but Rockstar has not ruled out a later PC release.
Reported rumors and industry chatter
Two claims have attracted the most attention.
VGC journalist Andy Robinson has said he has heard some industry chatter suggesting the PC wait could be shorter than many players expect.
A separate rumor from the account DetectiveSeeds claims Rockstar may be targeting February 2027.
Neither claim is an official Rockstar release window, and the quality of the sourcing behind them differs significantly.
Speculation
Other proposed dates usually come from comparing GTA 6 with previous Rockstar PC releases or trying to interpret Take-Two’s financial forecasts.
Those comparisons can provide context, but they do not reveal Rockstar’s internal release schedule.
Latest GTA 6 PC release date news
No official PC release announcement has appeared in the sources checked for this September 25 update.
However, several recent developments have added useful context.
Take-Two says PC is becoming increasingly important
During Take-Two’s September 17, 2026 annual meeting, CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked about platform availability and discussed the company’s approach to PC releases.
PC Gamer reported his comments on September 18.
Zelnick said Take-Two aims to bring its games to platforms with meaningful audiences and described PC as an increasingly important part of the market.
That is encouraging context for players expecting a GTA 6 PC version eventually, but Zelnick did not provide a release date, year, or preorder plan for GTA 6 on PC.
GTA 6 multiplayer in 2027 does not confirm a PC release in 2027
Another recent story involves Twitch CEO Dan Clancy.
In coverage published by PC Gamer on September 17, Clancy said he expected GTA 6’s multiplayer component to arrive in 2027 and referred to discussions between Twitch and Rockstar.
The comment attracted attention because of Clancy’s position and his reference to Rockstar. It is still not an official Rockstar announcement.
More importantly, the statement concerns multiplayer timing, not the PC version of GTA 6.
Rockstar could follow different schedules for the console launch, multiplayer features, and a future PC edition. Clancy’s comments therefore should not be treated as confirmation of GTA 6 for PC in 2027.
August’s GTA VI updates did not announce PC
Rockstar’s August 27 extended look provided another major update on GTA VI, but it did not add PC to the announced platform list.
PC Gamer’s GTA 6 PC guide, updated August 28, also noted the continued absence of a PC announcement.
Take-Two’s August 7 results and release schedule continued to list GTA VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
What are the main GTA 6 PC release-date rumors?
Andy Robinson mentioned industry chatter about a shorter PC wait
One of the more interesting recent comments came from VGC journalist Andy Robinson.
During a September 4 episode of the VGC Podcast, Robinson discussed GTA 6’s eventual PC release and referred to hearing “a bit of noise” suggesting it could arrive sooner than some people expect.
The wording matters.
Robinson did not provide a month or year, identify a Rockstar source, or report that a specific release window had been locked internally.
His comments are best treated as industry chatter suggesting the traditional Rockstar PC delay might be shorter this time — not as a dated leak.
That possibility is worth watching, especially because PC has become more important to Take-Two. But there is still no public evidence showing exactly how much shorter the wait might be.
February 2027 rumor: specific date, weak verification
A much more specific rumor points to February 2027.
The claim traces back to an April 9, 2026 post by the account DetectiveSeeds, covered the following day by TechWiser.
According to the account, more than 90 former Rockstar employees were contacted through LinkedIn and three responses supposedly pointed toward February 2027. The same claim acknowledged that the schedule could change.
There are major limitations to that information.
The former employees have not been publicly identified, their current knowledge of Rockstar’s plans cannot be verified, and there is no independently confirmed internal schedule supporting the date.
A February 2027 PC release would put the game on PC roughly three months after the currently announced console launch. That would be dramatically faster than the PC rollout of GTA V or Red Dead Redemption 2.
It is possible Rockstar could shorten the gap this time, but February 2027 should currently be treated as an unconfirmed rumor, not an expected release date.
Corsair’s old early-2026 comment was speculation
Another claim that occasionally reappears comes from Corsair.
During a February 2025 financial call, Corsair finance executive Ronald van Veen discussed the possibility of GTA 6 launching on consoles in fall 2025 and then arriving on PC in early 2026.
As GamesRadar reported on February 21, 2025, Corsair subsequently clarified that the comment was speculative and that the company did not have release-date information from Rockstar or Take-Two.
The prediction also came before GTA VI’s later schedule changes.
It should therefore not be treated as evidence for the current PC timeline.
What GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 tell us about a possible PC release
Rockstar has a history of launching major games on consoles before bringing them to PC.
The two most useful comparisons are GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.
GTA V originally launched for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, 2013. Its PC version followed on April 14, 2015.
The relevant comparison starts with that original 2013 launch, not GTA V’s later PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release in November 2014.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launched for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26, 2018, followed by PC on November 5, 2019.
These examples show that a console-first Rockstar release can later come to PC, but they do not provide a formula for predicting GTA 6.
Rockstar’s development process, platform priorities, hardware landscape, and commercial strategy are different today.
When could GTA 6 come to PC?
There is not enough verified information to give GTA 6 a dependable PC release window yet.
Still, the dates most commonly discussed fall into a few broad scenarios.
Could GTA 6 come to PC in 2027?
Yes, 2027 is possible, but several very different claims are often grouped together under that year.
They include:
- the unverified February 2027 rumor;
- Andy Robinson’s suggestion that the PC wait could be shorter than expected;
- comparisons with Red Dead Redemption 2, which reached PC roughly a year after consoles.
None of these confirms a 2027 launch.
PC Gamer’s August 28 guide suggests November 2027 as an earliest likely estimate based largely on Rockstar’s previous release patterns.
That is editorial analysis rather than reporting that Rockstar has chosen November 2027 internally.
Could GTA 6 come to PC in 2028?
A 2028 release becomes plausible if Rockstar follows a delay closer to GTA V’s roughly 19-month gap.
Applying a similar interval to the current November 19, 2026 console date would push the PC version into 2028.
Again, this is only a historical comparison. GTA 6 does not need to follow the same timeline.
Take-Two’s fiscal year does not confirm a PC date
Some speculation around February 2027 also points to Take-Two’s financial calendar.
Take-Two’s fiscal 2027 ends on March 31, 2027, according to the company’s official financial outlook.
However, the announced November 19, 2026 console launch already falls within that fiscal year.
Take-Two’s financial targets therefore do not, by themselves, provide evidence for an additional PC release before March 31.
Why might GTA 6 arrive on PC after consoles?
Take-Two has publicly discussed Rockstar’s console-first strategy.
In a Bloomberg interview reported by PC Gamer on May 4, 2026, Strauss Zelnick described the company’s approach in terms of serving the game’s core audience first.
That helps explain the business thinking behind launching first on consoles.
It does not mean PC is unimportant. Zelnick’s more recent comments make clear that Take-Two sees PC as an increasingly significant platform.
There are also practical differences between releasing on fixed console hardware and supporting the much wider range of PC configurations. But Rockstar has not publicly identified a specific technical reason for GTA 6’s lack of a PC date.
Claims that the delay is definitely caused by piracy, a console exclusivity agreement, or a deliberate attempt to make players buy the game twice remain speculation unless Rockstar or Take-Two says otherwise.
Can you preorder GTA 6 on PC?
No official GTA 6 PC preorder has been announced.
Rockstar’s June 24 preorder announcement opened preorders from June 25 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
PC was not included.
Rockstar has also not announced a GTA VI PC storefront lineup for Steam, Epic Games Store, or its own PC distribution channels.
If you find a retailer listing that claims to sell a GTA 6 PC preorder, check whether Rockstar itself links to the offer and whether the platform, publisher, edition, and release information are clearly identified.

Official GTA 6 PC system requirements have not been published.
The current Rockstar GTA VI store page does not provide PC minimum or recommended specifications.

- GPU;
- RAM;
- operating system;
- SSD;
- available storage.
Any detailed GTA 6 PC specification table published elsewhere is therefore an estimate unless Rockstar is named as the source.
How much storage will GTA 6 need on PC?
There is also no official GTA 6 PC download or installation size.
When official figures eventually appear, it will be important to distinguish between:
- download size;
- installed game size;
- free storage required during installation or updates.
These numbers are not always identical.
Console file sizes, development builds, or the storage requirements of previous Rockstar games cannot confirm the final PC requirement for GTA 6.
Can you play GTA 6 on PC right now?
